A little bit about me! Things I love (besides photography!): puppies, dark chocolate, hiking, camping, flowers, really good food, sunrises and sunsets, traveling, being off the grid, music, our national parks, and of course, my awesome family and friends!

As a photographer, my goal is to guide you through your photography experience.  No stress, no worries, just a great experience for you and your family!  I help you choose a location, explain in detail what to expect, help you decide what to print and display in your home, and I am here to help you from start to finish.  I have taken film and digital photography classes, I use all professional photography equipment (Nikon camera bodies/lenses/flashes, Sigma lenses, LensBaby, etc.), and I love what I do.  I mean I really love it!

I also have over 25 years of experience working with animals - as a veterinary technician, in obedience and agility classes, working at animal shelters, volunteering with animal rescue organizations, and as an animal lover in general.  Dogs, horses, goats, etc.  - I'm their biggest fan and know how to photograph them well!

My photos have been featured in the Elburn Herald and Sugar Grove Herald newspapers, Kaneland Publications, Gallery 125, The World Around You Instagram page, Illinois Shots Instagram page, Macro Moms Instagram Page, Lensbaby Love Blog Instagram Page, Go and Capture the Light Instagram Page, Magic in the Tetons Instagram Page, and the City of St. Charles Instagram page.

My goal for my clients is for you to PRINT your photos, display them proudly, and enjoy them for many, many years to come.  I’d love to capture your story, so let's talk!

Professionally, I am an award-winning and published photographer (first place in Illinois for a series on Elburn Days!), I belong to several professional photography organizations, and I love to take continuing education classes to challenge myself creatively.

I strive to take photos that capture moments in time to be treasured for years to come.  My camera tells a story of life in this moment – whether that’s outside on a walk in the woods, at a beautiful park, playing catch with little ones, or having a snowball fight.  My photo sessions are relaxed and fun, while we capture your family just as they are.  No stress, no anxiety, just relaxed fun.  I want my clients to print their photos, display them proudly, and enjoy them for many, many years to come (ie. hung in pretty frames on walls, displayed in a coffee table book or on a cool album block – just not stored on a hard drive! ).

I obviously love photography, but what I love most is capturing memories and moments.  These memories and moments, whether on a family vacation or in a backyard, are what tells each family’s priceless “story”.  My family’s story includes a rescued mutt whose purpose here is to make us laugh several times each day.  We love to hike, camp, and travel.  Yep, outdoors is where we’re happiest!  We are currently working our way through the national parks.  I’d love to capture your family’s story, so give me a call!
