For this gorgeous Batavia High School senior portrait session for “S”, Batavia High School Class of 2018, we headed to a farm in rural Kane County to capture some beautiful summer evening sun, some striking blue skies, a cool chippy paint red barn, and a surprise tiger-striped barn kitty who tried his best to be in every shot.  Of course we let him because, well, he’s adorable.  This oh-so-pretty July summer evening did not disappoint, with warm weather (that those of us in the Midwest cherish all summer long!), an incredible and colorful sunset, and a senior who was willing to jump over some beans to get a cool silhouette shot at the end of her fun session.   As a photographer, all of these things add up to one incredible senior session experience!

It was nice to add a few personal touches to S’s senior gallery, such as a little guitar music at golden hour and a behind the scenes shot of her super sweet mom holding my reflector for me to get the best light!  I love it when moms (or dads!) are willing to jump in for the shot.  And did I mention chickens?  We headed to S’s aunt and uncle’s house in Batavia to capture a few funny moments with their backyard chickens.  S is like a chicken whisperer.  I know from personal experience that most chickens have no interest in being held, especially for a few minutes of photos, but these hens hung out with S and struck a pose like pros.

Many congrats to you, S,  and thank you for choosing me as your senior year photographer!

xoxo~Laura
