As a member of the Elburn Chamber of Commerce, I was super excited that this year’s Elburn Chamber of Commerce Christmas Stroll was on a weekend where: 1. I would be able to attend, 2. there would be awesome new lights on the buildings and 3. the weather was perfect! I walked through town, capturing little bits and pieces of the many things that make my hometown of Elburn just so special.
As a photographer, I couldn’t be happier when holiday lights come out. It’s the simple things, right? But they add so much beauty and interest to our local sights!
The Christmas Stroll really does have something for everyone: shopping, Santa, raffles, food, crafts, more food, hot cocoa, reindeer, Mrs. Claus, etc.
For some of the best hot cocoa and cookies around, it’s important to make a stop at the Corner Grind!
This holiday train scene at the Elburn American Legion stopped me in my tracks. I could have watched it go around, and around, and around. But kids were waiting to catch a glimpse, too!
New this year was the addition of The Old Elburn Hall! Great live music and delicious food to be found!
I loved the pretty wreath and door swag at Amazing Grace Antiques.
One of my personal favorites right here: a VW Bus decked out in holiday lights and scenes! I mean, how cool is that!
So many options! Keep walking so you can do them all!
And a must do while on the stroll: stop and write a letter to our troops who are not able to be with their families over the holiday season.
And such an important lesson for those who have live Christmas trees: you need to attend this presentation!
The Elburn Chamber of Commerce has an annual scholarship for a senior residing in the Kaneland school district. Local businesses donate wonderful items for this raffle to help support the scholarship fund! Thanks to Schmidt’s for allowing the Elburn Chamber to display the prizes here!
Many thanks to everyone who attended, donated, supported, set up, cleaned up, etc., to this wonderful annual small-town event!
